Welcome to Sassy Quilting!
I should start by telling you my name is Sally Crites. One of my nephews could not pronounce my name so he renamed me Sassy. That stuck. My grandmother instilled in my sister and I the love of quilting. I had been sewing out of a spare bedroom then graduated to a bay in the garage. I kept asking my husband Clint to build me a sewing room outside the house.
He came to me one day and said “God is leading me to build a quilting business.” I immediately told him “I don’t think God told you to do that. You are crazy and you better keep praying!” He said he was serious and wanted us both to pray about it. We kept it to ourselves.
For the next several months we prayed about it and one day at church a precious lady in our church walked up to me and said “I had a dream you built a quilt store next to your home and I came to work for you.” Sue White was her name and she was retiring from her job in a few months.
I got serious about praying after that. The next thing I knew, we got an offer to sell a piece of land we owned. This allowed us to build the brick-and-mortar store with no overhead. Our sons have all helped build our building. Our daughters-in-law have helped as well. It actually has been a family affair. We are rapidly growing and are pleased to serve God and our customers. And by the way that sweet saint, Sue White, still works with us today.
